Hi, I'm Brian Cooper, the managing director and founder of Intech System Integrators. I'm responsible for business development, sales, and day-to-day operations within Intech.
What inspired me to start intech? In the in the previous companies, I was involved in automation was never the main thing. And because of that and the projects we were involved in, automation was never leverage to its full capacity. We could not extract all the benefit automation could bring to clients and operations. I wanted to change that in my life and for our customers I work for. Integ was born as an automation company focused on the automation aspect and the benefit it can bring to the customers.
I'm Jaco Cooper, operations and technical director at Integ System Integrators. At Integ, I focus on building and supporting the team, ensuring we consistently deliver high-quality solutions and driving the growth of the business. We're proud to be an inductive automation premier integrator, a reflection of our team's commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. It's about aligning people, processes, and technology so we can deliver bigger challenges, real value to our clients, and scale in a sustainable way.
I also stay close to the work, getting my hands dirty on projects where needed, supporting the team, and helping to ensure we deliver the right outcomes to our customers.
When I joined in 2017, it was just Brian and myself. So the team was still taking shape. But even then, we had a clear idea of the kind of culture that we wanted to build. Today, that has become a reality. There's a strong sense of ownership. Our team generally cares about the outcome they deliver. And the environment is collaborative and open. It's not overly structured, but it's focused on getting things done well. Over time, it grew into something bigger, a business that delivered real value while creating a space where people can do great work. From the beginning, it's been about doing things the right way, laying a strong foundation and building something that lasts.
There were a couple of problems I identified in the automation space and some of them were to understand clients pain points and addressing them instead of just implementing an automation solution. We wanted our solutions to be scalable and future-ready. Our business must be built in such a way that they empower our clients to run their facilities more efficiently and enable them to make educated business decisions that will benefit their businesses.
Integ differentiates itself from other system integrators by our longstanding relationships with our clients. Some of our clients come from the day we founded the company.
Integ has extensive experience in food and beverage and batching solutions and this is something that all the SIS in SA don't have a lot of experience with. We pride ourselves on the quality and make it our business to have an in-depth understanding of our clients business to enable us to deliver the best product. We prioritise open scalable technologies and clean design principles so that our solutions are scalable and easily maintainable. Integ is an outcome-focused company and not just an engineering firm.
The team is everything. Achievements like premier partner status are never about individuals. They are the results of consistent effort, shared standards and a collective commitment to excellence. It's a team's ability to deliver, adapt, and continuously improve that makes these milestones possible.
What stands out most is how each project has built on the last. Over time, we've gained the experience and confidence to take on bigger, more complex work. We've grown from small engagements to larger projects with bigger teams, stronger collaboration, and a more structured delivery. A lot of our progress comes from applying what we've learned and continuously improving.
The real standout moment though are when the team digs deep, pushes through the pressure, and delivers on the expectations of the client. Those are the moments that stand out.
What excites me most is where technology is heading, especially with AI and the pace of innovation in our industry. Integ is in a strong position to leverage that, using new technology to design smarter and more efficient solutions. We've built a solid foundation and now it's about applying these achievements to our technologies.
I'm most proud of the reputation we've built and the relationship we've developed with our clients. A large part of our work comes from repeat business and referrals which speaks to the trust we've earned. I'm also proud of the team and the culture we've created. A group of people who genuinely care about delivering quality and doing things the right way.
Our partnership with Element Eight and Inductive Automation has been a key enabler of growth. The technologies aligned perfectly with our philosophy of open, scalable and future-proof systems. Beyond the technology itself, the support, training and global ecosystem they provide have allowed us to deliver at a high level and take on more complex projects with confidence. It's not just a supply relationship, it's a strategic partnership that has helped us grow both technically and as a business.
Becoming one of the first premier integrators is a significant milestone for us. It validates the work we've put in over the years, not just in delivering projects, but in building deep expertise around the ignition platform.
For me personally, it's a reflection of consistency. We've always focused on doing things properly, investing in the right technology, people, and building strong client relationships. It also positions Integ opportunity and responsibility to continue raising the standards of what's possible in the industrial automation space.
It's a major achievement for us. This shows that the level of expertise and innovation in South Africa is on par with global standards. This will also give local businesses the confidence that they can access world-class solutions and skills locally in South Africa and in Cape Town. For us, this is a confirmation that we are on the right path. And for the market, it will help drive wider adoption of modern open platforms like Ignition.
Ignition gives us a flexible and scalable platform to build solutions that are tailored to our clients' needs. It simplifies how we design, develop, and deploy systems, which improves consistency and reduces complexity. This allows our team to focus on solving client challenges and delivering solutions that add long-term value. If you can dream it, you can build it.
To reach Premier Partner Status, it took a team-wide effort over a number of years and projects. This wasn't something that we achieved overnight. We invested heavily in upskilling, certification, and hands-on project experience. Just as important, we focused on delivering high-quality work every time. It also comes down to the team culture. Everyone in intech takes ownership of what they do, what they deliver, and the projects they are allocated to and that collective mindset is what made this possible. The projects that best showcase our capabilities are those where we delivered end to-end solutions from design through to implementation and ongoing support.
Some of the projects I can mention is the Döhler project where we utilise Sepasoft batch engine as well as inductive automation's ignition perspective platform with the historian. This was a complex project that our team took on.
Another project that I can highlight is one that we just completed. It was in the feed industry where we utilised an inductive automations ignition platform to build a fully automated MES patch system with a SCADA platform. Projects where we helped clients modernise legacy systems, unify data across operations and build scalable platforms for future growth is also something that we have done before, particularly in the water industry. We've implemented systems where we monitor and control water infrastructure like Boreholes, reservoirs and pump stations. This is particularly important for specifically clients in the Karoo where the sites are very far apart and signals is a major problem. Creating a hosted platform for our clients where they could easily log in and maintain their systems from far away and this was important for them to be able to maintain their infrastructure. What really defines the project is not just the technology but the impact: improved visibility, better decision making and systems that continue to evolve with the business.
My name is Liam Hendricks. I'm a MES and SCADA developer at Integ. My role involves developing the ignition SCADAs and the MES systems. One of the greatest challenges that I've overcome at Integ is developing out our asset library and component library. This allows us in the development cycle to easily put together a proof of concept quite quickly for a client and meets the delivery deadlines.
One of my greatest moments working at Integ is a grain and mole project where we had to build a custom MES system. During the project development I had to create a custom module and using Ignition's SDK documentation and the community resources. It was partially a challenge but also quite easy. It was great to see the module up and running and implementing the features we required to execute the functionality we required in the project.
Ignition from a development point of view allows a power user or an advanced user to easily implement features quite easily. It follows a web standard open standard. So it's easy for us to use web standards and web principles to design features and components. As well as having an open SDK, it allows us to easily extend the functionality of the base platform whenever we find a limitation.
I'm Marvin Tswanwani. I'm a system integrator here at Integ. I do SCADA, PLC programming, instrumentation, and just an overall jack of all trades. One of the challenges that we've overcome here at Integ is essentially the standardisation of data. When you're working with brownfields, green fields, and all sorts of projects, you essentially get data from all different sources, databases, PLC providers. One thing that Ignition helps us do is standardise this information and it does it simply, in a way that we can deliver it to a client and in a way that they can also understand it as well as build database and data manipulation tools on top of it. One of my favourite things about working with Ignition is essentially the fact that you can use it as more than just a SCADA. With the tools that it provides, you can easily use it as a data acquisition tool, data management, processing, database connection, web interfacing.
There's a lot of things that you can do with it. What makes it great is that once you start utilising all the tools that Ignition gives you, you can start making your workload easier by automating certain scripts and procedures. You can make your work much much simpler. And that is one of my favourite things about ignition.
I'm Adriaan Le Roux, senior control engineer for Integ. I do PLC and SCADA work and mostly anything in between. One of the challenges I'm most proud of overcoming at Integ was delivering a complex control system with a simple user interface. We developed a routing system that allowed the operators to visually select a source and destination and then run their roots like that. My favourite moment was implementing the system and seeing the system go live and seeing the operators and how easy they were working the system and how quickly they adapted to this new control system.
The message that I would like to share with the community is to stay focused on building real value and stronger relationships. Technology changes fast but trust, delivery and people remain constant. If you invest in your team and your technology, growth will follow.
